East Madion, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- A spectacular New Hampshire winter day greeted competitors at the inaugural Pooh Hill Snowshoe Scramble yesterday at picturesque King Pine & Purity Spring Resort. Snowshoe racers were treated to a perfect blend of fast groomed nordic track, ungroomed snowshoe trails, a challenging trek up Pooh Hill, and a rollercoaster backcountry virgin singletrack descent. Overall winner, Jim Johnson of CMS crossed the finish line in 44:04 followed by Steve Wolfe of acidotic RACING (47:27) and Christopher Smith (49:19) of Dungeon Rock Racing. On the women's side, Crystal Anthony (49:30) was the winner with Leslie Dillon (53:52) of acidotic RACING and Amber Cullen (56:31) finishing second and third respectively. The team competition was also closely contested with acidotic RACING winning with an overall score of 344.25 followed by Dungeon Rock Racing (270.75) and BB&N (190.50).
